To Chick-Fil-A, Truett Cathy, and the WinShape Foundation:
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you saying that I can no longer, in good conscience, patronize your establishment. Nor can I partake of your delicious, succulent, juicy chicken.
I mean, I would like to. Oh trust me, I would!…
It has been over a decade since I last tasted Chick-Fil-A’s food, since going vegetarian. If killing animals doesn’t make you lose your appetite, the company’s blatant hate-mongering should. It is one thing for a company to donate money to organizations - after all, I’m sure Chick-Fil-A has done some good with their profits - but it is quite another to take money from loyal customers and donate it to organizations that are aggressively trying to eradicate the rights and existence of homosexuals. (How are we still hung up on the idea that sexuality is a choice?)
There are a lot of questions that need to be answered in this situation. But, I think the most important one is: Are you too chicken to stand up for our beef, or will you waffle and continue to support a company who should be more focused on feeding the world food rather than hate?
